Into orbit – Michael completes the UK’s highest freefall abseil

Michael Garcia, Assistant Headteacher, has completed his daredevil challenge; the UK’s highest freefall abseil from the ArcelorMittal Orbit.

Sir Anish Kapoor’s 114-metre-high sculpture — the largest in Britain — is a London landmark and a popular attraction in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

So far Michael has raised an impressive £494 plus gift aid for communication aids for our students.  Anyone still wishing to support him can visit Michael’s Virgin Money Giving page here.

Thank you and a massive ‘well done!’ to Michael from us all here at Five Acre Wood School!

Anyone wanting to undertake their own challenge in order to fundraise for our students should contact our school fundraiser Jane Gardiner by emailing jgardiner@five-acre.kent.sch.uk or calling 01622 743925 to discuss the range of events that we can offer.
