Chestnut

Welcome to Chestnut Class. We are a KS3/4 ASD class of 7 pupils, all following the semi-formal curriculum. There are 3 adults to support us.

We follow the structure of TEACCH to help develop our independent learning skills, as well as working in a group and on a 1:1 basis.

We work on our social communication skills and living skills throughout the school day. We use a range of approaches to help develop our communication and independent skills including, Makaton, speech and sentence strips using PECS.

We also enjoy cooking, Attention Autism sessions, music and sensory play. We like having people visiting our class to see all of the work we do.
