Costa Foundation showcases Made FAW You partnership
We are delighted to share the below video from the Costa Foundation, celebrating the launch of its work in the UK and highlighting the partnerships helping to create new opportunities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
For many years, the Costa Foundation has supported access to safe, quality education in coffee-growing communities around the world. We are incredibly grateful that Five Acre Wood School is one of the first two UK projects to benefit from this exciting new chapter.
Through the support of the Costa Foundation, alongside the generous contributions of JEM Construction, Hobart, Synecore, Vision and Williams, and our charity, FAWfilling Futures, our Made FAW You project has become a reality.
Together, these partnerships have transformed our teaching kitchen into a fully equipped commercial kitchen, creating a professional learning environment where pupils can develop practical, transferable skills. In future, the project will also enable pupils to create products to sell in Peggy’s FAWtique, our on-site school shop, giving pupils valuable experience in customer service, retail and hospitality.
Made FAW You is about much more than a kitchen. It is about creating meaningful opportunities for our pupils to build confidence, develop independence and prepare for adulthood through real-world vocational learning and yet another example of why we have been shortlisted in the Top 10 for the World’s Best School Prize 2026 in the Innovation category.
We are incredibly thankful to the Costa Foundation and all of our project partners for believing in our vision. Their generosity and commitment are helping to create brighter futures for our young people, and we look forward to seeing the lasting impact this partnership will have for years to come.
