Five Acre Wood School Releases Sixth Single as School Celebrates World’s Best School Prize Shortlisting
Five Acre Wood School is celebrating two major achievements today: the release of the signing choir’s sixth single, The Climb, and the announcement that the school has been shortlisted in the Top 10 for the World’s Best School Prize 2026 in the Innovation category.
The World’s Best School Prizes recognise schools that are transforming lives and creating positive change within their communities. Being named among the world’s top 10 schools for innovation places Five Acre Wood School alongside leading educational organisations from across the globe. The recognition celebrates the school’s commitment to developing ambitious opportunities for pupils through creative and innovative approaches to learning. From pioneering initiatives such as the FAWrient Express and Platform FAW to unique learning environments and real-world experiences, Five Acre Wood School continues to challenge expectations and create opportunities for young people to thrive.
The announcement comes as the school’s signing choir releases new single The Climb, a powerful song about perseverance, resilience and believing in yourself. The message of the song perfectly reflects the determination and ambition demonstrated by pupils throughout the school community. Helen Grant OBE, MP for Maidstone and Malling, congratulated the school on the achievement, describing it as a testament to the school’s creativity, ambition and commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for its pupils.
Principal Peggy Murphy said:
“This recognition belongs to every pupil, every member of staff, every family and every partner who helps make our school such a special place. It reflects a shared belief that all young people deserve ambitious opportunities, meaningful experiences and the chance to achieve extraordinary things.”
The winner of the World’s Best School Prize for Innovation will be announced in November. In the meantime, Five Acre Wood School is encouraging supporters to help spread the word and support its bid for the Community Choice Award.
