Michael’s epic abseil!

Michael Garcia, our Assistant Head in charge of Wellbeing, is once again taking up another daunting challenge in order to raise money for our students.

Last year Michael completed a gruelling sea marathon in a Kayak to raise an impressive £840 for our students, as well as being part of one of our fundraising Dragon Boat teams in July.

As if this wasn’t enough, in order to raise funds for vital communication aids for our students, he has found a way to go bigger and better this year…

On the 7th March 2015 Michael is going to abseil down the Arcelor Mittal Orbit at the Olympic Park in London.  At 376ft (114.5m) high it’s the UK’s tallest scupture.  It is 22 metres taller than the Statue of Liberty and almost 6 times taller than the Angel of the North.

He plans to wear a GoPro head camera so that he can record his moment of fear and share it with us all.

Anyone wishing to support Michael in this terrifying feat can click here to donate, or simply search ‘Michael Garcia’ on the Virgin Money Giving home page.
